It had been 10 years since I dropped out a four year school, and FMCC provided a great place to transition back into being a student. I learned quite a bit in my two years there, though whether or not if was from the classes is hard to tell. The computer science department has some serious issues with tenured teachers who seem to have given up on teaching. Not that you can blame them with some of the students they get. So you really need to be a self starter to get anything out of these classes, and usually if you actively engage one of the teachers they will respond by actually teaching you something.

This Community College is far different from any other. It's tiny, beautiful campus is filled with life and opportunity. The teachers are some of the best that I have ever come in contact with. They are engaging and helpful, and do not give out standard mutiple choice tests. They providea challenge if you wish to be challenged. As it is not a four year, competitive school, one can get away with less effort, but it is up to the individual.

Coming from HVCC, I would rank FMCC far higher for overall satisfaction, academic rigor, and extracurricular opportunities; not to mention it has a far superior layout, and the buildings are aesthetically pleasing.I would recommend this college for anyone who is not ready or not financial able to attend a four year institution. The experience of small campus, superb teachers, and no snobbish students is truly invaluable.
Friendliness: A+, Collaboration/Competitive: C-

I would recommend attending FMCC if you live in the area, the tuition is affordable and the teachers are there to really teach. Although, I do not recommend coming to this school if all you are lookig to do is party. There is not much around to do in the local community.
Faculty Accessibility: A+, Innovation: F
