Fordham's Lincoln Center campus is not your traditionalBrightOther
Fordham's Lincoln Center campus is not your traditional college atmosphere, which can bode well for the go-getter looking to take to Manhattan's countless attractions and benefits, but not so well for the meek student that wants to keep to his or her dorm room and rely on the school to help the social atmosphere. Frankly, the fact that this school is in New York is the best thing it has going for it. The administration is lousy and will give you red tape, runaround treatment whether you're dealing with a financial aid problem, study abroad questions, or even a simple internet connection question. The social life is really up to you to make for yourself. Students at Lincoln Center often gravitate around students in the same major or path of study. The theater program, which is massive, is like a fraternity/sorority with its members (not to say that they're all snooty, because I have theater friends myself). Also, if you're out to build up some school spirit, it's not here. No sports (other than a small soccer 'club'), no rallies, no particularly interesting history or tradition to the campus. You're just there to make use of New York in the great location.

Question
While I would want to improve on Fordham'sBrightEconomics
While I would want to improve on Fordham's student body, and I think the social scene in the Bronx leaves much to be desired, the academics are satisfying. Living in Hughes Hall sucked last year, my roommates were loud but friendly. The girls on my floor formed cliques pretty quickly which was disappointing, but maybe expected. This year is a lot better, after spending a year here I'm know what's around the corner and knowing a lot of the faces you walk past is a nice feeling. The campus is gorgeous in the fall/spring and as silly as it is, haning out on Eddie's parade in the sunshine is quite nice.

Question
While academically Fordham is a great school withQuite BrightUrban Planning
While academically Fordham is a great school with challenging courses and great faculty, the student body is very closed-minded. I just finished my junior year and am still surprised by this. Also, the students are disinterested and uninformed of anything remotely political. But, on another note, the social life is fun and the students live by the "work hard, play hard" motto. Being in NYC is great.
