SUICIDE @Hamilton, not worthQuite BrightUndecided
SUICIDE @Hamilton, not worth it; not an Ivy, not Division 1 sports, not a PhD feeder, and not a banking/Wall Street feeder like Colgate.

Not as preppy, lax//frat Bro douche as Colgate (which tries to pretend otherwise, got accepted there as well, but read the student reviews- stating don't take the place of someone unless you party, but at least they get their grads jobs with $$), whereas Ham doesn't.

Ham appears more intellectual than Colgate, campus as beautiful in a different way which is why I chose Ham over Colgate and Bates.

But Ham has its own bro culture (and its sad Dartmouth imitation frats) albeit Division 3, without whatever benefits come with the jock ( joke) culture in a Division 3 school and without the PhD allure of other truly intellectual Lacs, and without the Colgate corporate feeder, but it seems to have more suicides and for what? Rep not that stellar and no one outside the LAC geeks and college counselors know Hamilton. Not worth it. Especially, if you read the Ham student paper - on the suicides and that the kids didn't blink. Wow, how sick is that. Maybe the Ham streaking takes their mind off of it or they don't care. I am transferring to Pomona a true intellectual LAC, without a deluded Division 3 lax /frat bro douche culture and where the students give a shit and students go on for PhDs

Question
If you're a PC Democrat, you'll love thisSuper BrilliantComputer Science
If you're a PC Democrat, you'll love this place. Racism against white people abounds, and sexism against men is the norm. Both students and professors encourage it. If you're a Republican, you'll also love this place. Hamilton churns out more Goldman-Sachs employees and Government Bureaucrats than the number of children a Christian family is told to produce. Oh, and there is a fascist campus police presence too, complete with a individual-rights-suppressing college kangaroo court judicial system (that presumes guilty until proven innocent). People are snitches, and one of my friends got kicked out for practicing bass guitar in his room too many times (multiple noise complaints).

Most of the students here are more concerned with facades of intelligence like grades than actually learning. In fact, most of the students are immature, snooty, rich WASPs who prioritize lame partying over all else. Alcoholism runs rampant. Many of the classes are simply propaganda. The sciences are all better than average, and the Philosophy department is fantastic. It might be worth it to go here if you're going to study Philosophy. But otherwise, go elsewhere. There are colleges that don't treat you like an immature rich kid - colleges that treat you like a adult human being with inalienable rights. Vote with your feet.
