Got my degree in Travel & Tourism; HospitalityQuite BrightOther
Got my degree in Travel & Tourism; Hospitality and Event Management. That department's staff was phenomenal, very helpful, caring, knowledgeable, approachable, etc. I especially enjoyed the two core teachers, Debra Sutton and Paul Howe. Teachers in other departments varied from nice to horrible (avoid Lisa Elwood and Paul Wehrum at all cost!) For such a small college, there are a lot of interesting degrees.I only took online classes, so my complete knowledge of campus life is based on weekly e-mails and visiting the campus when I graduated. Don't expect much off of the college campus - Herkimer isn't very big.

Question
I have a unique situation, because I commuteQuite BrightUndecided
I have a unique situation, because I commute from nearby and don't have to pay tuition. So, although I'm not having the traditional college experience, I've found Herkimer to be pleasantly surprising. The teachers are (mostly) very nice and knowledgeable, there aren't too many strict guidelines they impose and they are all generally accessible. If I had a problem in my classes, all I had to do was talk to them about it and the issue was resolved easily. College is supposed to be a challenge, and my course load isn't very stressful, but the faculty does their best to make it easier on the students. Herkimer gets a bad rap sometimes, but I've found it to be clean and friendly for the most part. It really depends on the attitude you have and the effort you're willing to put out. Of course a teacher isn't going to want to accommodate you if you're lazy and arrogant, it's common sense, so give respect here and you'll get it in return. In my one year, lectures have been interesting and informative and I haven't been overwhelmed with useless work for the sake of it. I'm glad I'm here for now, it was a good start so I can transfer to a bigger school later.

Question
I love herkimer I'am returing back to thisQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I love herkimer I'am returing back to this year and I love it. I actually can't wait to return I have a 3.4 gpa and I still went to parties and had fun yes it a party school but as a student you have to be able to balance it all out I love it everyone is nice and the teachers are friendly and I cant wait to go back in 3 weeks. Herkimer also has a lot of programs for the students that are free like housing across the street from the school have many events to keep the tudents entertain. So for anyone who attended and didnt like the school they were close minded and didnt like the school before they got theere.
