DISCLAIMER: Do not go here if you can't stand the cold! :)
I love love love this school. The majority of the people that go here love this school. We are an extremely open-minded campus- lgbt and trans* friendly! We do not have greek life here which I kind of like...the school isn't solely focused on its athletic superstars or fraternities. Its a huge community here and the absence of frats and sororities eliminates yet another way for the student body to create cliques. We have awesome concerts, comedy shows and events that go on every week.

You do not feel like a number here. You might have the same professor for several classes over the years and they really get to know you. It's a great way to get reccomendations for jobs before graduation. Professors for the most part are really captivating and fun, and the administration WILL know you by name. I'm about a B or B- student, sometimes C's so I'm not their top student, but the dean of the business school knows my name.

*Con: professors here LOVE group work...so be prepared if you only like to work individually. Cornell is right next door. Seeing your friends post their frat/sorority pictures online makes you kinda wish you did the same thing at points... however at Cornell the frats and sororities throw AWESOME parties- i'm talking hot tubs and indoor beach parties, paint parties... you name it and they've done it. They also have big names come to their school and ithaca students can easily purchase tickets. At my time here at IC i've seen Maroon 5, MGMT, Taio Cruz, Flaming Lips and I'm about to go see Kendrick Lamar and Avicii.

Ithaca College is great. Lots of very friendly people. The students are very diverse, and you can find every type of person here. Lot's of creative types. I spend many nights jamming with both music majors and non music majors (myself included). The only negative thing that comes to mind is the food. I often leave the dining halls not satisfied. Campus center is the worst and Terraces is the best, but still the food is not great. Plenty of delivery options, but that get's expensive very quickly. However there are food options like the Pub, Sub Connection, and the tc lounge that take the campus bonus bucks.

During freshman year, it was challenging to adjust to the college lifestyle. I stuck it out, though, and definitely can agree that Ithaca's a great school! It's what you make of it, the friends you choose, and your own personal reactions to what surrounds you. One of my favorite parts about the school is that they encourage you to explore and be creative compared to other music programs.
