 | Quite Bright | | 1.) Price. Don't go to Keuka unless you have a scholarship. It's not worth it. The Board of Trustees and the George Ball Scholarships, along with others, provide a heavy chunk of your tuition. If you don't have a scholarship, just go to community college or a state school. You're getting nothing here. 2.) Competitiveness in general. Teachers rarely curve, especially in the math/science department. When the average in the class is a 55%, the curve isn't set upon that - it's a 55% and it's failing. Bigger, better schools curve (I'm looking at you, Ivy Leagues), and in grad school, most of my tests were curved. 3.) Social. Everyone knows your business here BUT let me be clear: IF YOU GO TO A BIG SCHOOL PEOPLE WILL KNOW YOUR BUSINESS THERE TOO! Some big schools have dorm buildings as populous as Keuka College - gossip travels fast in a dorm just as it does across the KC campus. It's an issue of scaling. 4.) Extracurriculars. Ample opportunities to be a member of a club and it's simple to become a leader (pad your resume!!!). Be warned - if you're not in a glory position, no one will verbally recognize you and you WILL be overshadowed by easy glory jobs. 5.) The Senate. This council is led by an unofficial dictator who decides what flies and what doesn't. You pay a student fee so that the Senate can get recognized for being stingy on programs, but generous on insignificant scholarships, fitness room improvements, and more. Suggestion: INVEST IN A SAFE WAY TO TRAVEL THE 5 MILES INTO TOWN TO GO TO THE BARS! Believe it or not many people go to the bars and choose NOT to drink. A "drunk bus" would be a fantastic way to encourage safe fun (oh and every other school ever has seen this concept come to fruition). | Campus Maintenance: A, Surrounding City: D | | | |

| | Quite Bright | I have read the negative reviews about Keuka College and they are typically in relation to the campus buildings, environment and town. That is not what an education is about. If you are seeking an exciting night-life and big city then Keuka is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a quality education that is grounded in theory and offers ample opportunity for practice - I would encourage you to look at Keuka College. At Keuka College you are offered the opportunity to learn in a friendly environment, where you are a person and not a number. The region is beautiful and the people are friendly. Keuka College personnel want you to succeed and will make every effort to provide the tools necessary for you to gain a quality education and leave with enough experience to land your first job. College is what you make of it and it's up to YOU to develop your path. There are several clubs and organizations at the school offering a variety of opportunities, but you have to become involved. At Keuka College you will find lasting friendships and a second "family" to help you along the way. | Individual Value: A+, Surrounding City: C- | | | |

| | Quite Bright | | In short, I don't recommend Keuka College because the tuition is quite high for the education you receive. With the tuition they charge, students should get a high quality education instead of the inferior one they actually receive. The professors are not the best in the world. In fact, the professors I had at my junior college were much better. The college has a habit of 'nickel and diming you to death' with small, hidden fees that quickly add up to a substantial amount. In my case, these extra charges added a few thousand dollars to my final college bill. As far as life on campus, there is little do. Events are typically some local performer coming in to do a show or a dance. The clubs and extracurricular activities are lacking. Many colleges have a career placement center to help recent graduates find employment. Does Keuka? The answer is "No." In fact after you graduate, the only time you will hear from the college is when they are asking for money. | Starting Job: Laboratory Technologist, Preparedness: D+, Reputation: F | | |
