This school sucks. Faculty sucks. The services suck. The tuition is ridiciously high. If you are planning on going to this school for Pharmacy, don't bother. You're better off going somewhere else.

It was fine for me. LIU is one of only FIVE Pharmacy schools in New York State so it's obviously going to be competitive. It's a six year program and you get your doctorate.

The people I met were fantastic and very serious about their academics, all you have to do is associate yourself with the right people and you'll be fine.

The administration and the professors can be annoying but I don't hate the school for it. I've compared with other friends in different colleges and they get the same result.

There is no student life but that's because most students would rather hang out in New York City itself then to be trapped on campus, besides 80% of the students commute since there are only 600 students living on campus, primarily out-of-state/international students. Make NYC your campus and you'll have fun, there's too much to do to want to stay on an 11 acre/2 block campus. Though there are one or two parties on campus on Thursday nights. NOTE: Every school in New York City has their campus parties thursday nights since they are all commuter schools mainly.

Everyone has their own opinion, this school worked out great for me and the work isn't easy either. It's not an IVY League, even if it's competing with ivy league prices, don't expect for things to be wonderful. My class sizes were small so people knew me and professors I met at Orientation still remember my face so I don't feel like a number. Bottom line is, if you don't like the school, then transfer out. This isn't a tuition friendly school and they're not holding a gun to your head forcing you to stay so if you stay, it must be because you really want to.

40% of the school is African American, 26% is Caucasion. Recently there's been a influx of muslim and asian students but the majority of the school is African American and Caucasion but everyone blends in well. There are 72% female students due to the medical majors which are the best programs to get in. I don't know about the others but the Pharmacy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant's programs are the best.
