I attended C.W. Post for my freshman year of college, and I am transferring to a second-tier ivy league school in the fall. C.W. Post is a beyond gorgeous campus in Brookville, Long Island, which is one of the richest areas in the country. I chose to go to C.W. Post because I wanted to stay close to home for my first year of college. I did not feel completely ready to leave home, and I am so happy that I made that decision.

C.W. Post has a very diverse group of people. There are all different people from all different races, ethnicities, states, countries and walks of life. A negative comment stated that everyone seemed to be the same and from Long Island. While a majority of students come from NY State, and many are from Long Island, a lot of my friends came from out of state and were very different types of people. You have to be outgoing to make friends, especially if you are a commuter like myself. I made tons of friends, but you need to put in the effort. Start talking to the people next to you in your classes, and they can become the best of friends by the end of the semester.

In terms of academics, this school is great for some and not so great for others. Personally, I am an A/B student, and most of the time, I did not feel completely challenged. A lot of tests that I thought were hard and I thought I failed, actually wound up being As. So if you are a good student, you will do amazing without much effort. That being said, there are some courses, and some professors, that will really require you to put in a lot of effort into their class. A lot of professors will just about force you to change your ways of thinking, and to learn to see everything objectively rather than subjectively. This becomes beneficial and makes you a better writer, thinker and person. I loved C.W. Post. I chose to leave because I want a change and more of a challenge. That being said, I definitely learned a lot more at Post than I ever thought I would, and it was a great experience that I will certainly miss. If you come to Post, if you love it great. If you don't initially, change your mindset and I promise you will learn to love it.

Long Island University is Overpriced. They allow a lot of underachievers into the school through programs to help students who have learning disabilities - unfortunately, the students they bring in have behavioral disabilities are inner-city students who are frightening and dangerous. my friend was raped by one of these people and after investigating, the police decided there was not enough evidence to call it rape and allowed the student back on campus WITHOUT NOTIFYING MY FRIEND! the reason it was not found as rape is that Brookville is the wealthiest town in the country and showing a rape happened there would ruin its stellar reputation. you can disprove anything with money. this school is a terribly scary place where honor students as myself are placed with under-educated charity students who are neither challenging intellectually nor happy to be there. they are ungrateful and disruptive to the classes.
