Paying for your education may be one of the biggest challenges you encounter as a student. At first glance, the figures for tuition might seem out of your reach. At NYIT, we understand the importance of balancing your desire for a high quality college education with the reality of your financial situation. And we want to help.

NYIT is proud to offer a number of generous financial aid options to students who might otherwise have difficulty paying for college. Some of these options are NYIT-sponsored; others are offered through federal, state and local government programs. The Office of Financial Aid coordinates all of these programs and works with students to determine eligibility, sort through all the different options and create a financial aid package that can make an NYIT education a reality.

Part of NYIT's mission is to offer access to educational opportunity for all qualified students. We believe every qualified student deserves the chance to earn a quality college education, regardless of his or her financial status. We have worked hard to keep our tuition moderate, one of the lowest of any private college or university in New York State. And we offer generous scholarships and financial aid opportunities that bring tuition costs down to even more affordable levels.

As part of our mission to offer access to opportunity to all qualified students, we have created a number of generous, NYIT-exclusive academic and merit scholarships for incoming first-year students, incoming transfer students and continuing NYIT students. These scholarships are available through the generosity of trustees and friends of the college, NYIT alumni and members of the business community.

In order to apply for these scholarships, you must first file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA, then contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information.

NYIT guarantees that any full-time first-year student who files the FAFSA will receive at least $1,500 in financial assistance from NYIT for the first year of study. This may include funding through any NYIT scholarship or grant program.
