 | Quite Bright | Honestly, never really broke a sweat.... Engineering is suppose to be extremely challenging (at least not in this school). Students are not driven at all to excel, all they care about is cheating and getting a passing grade. 90% of the students do not understand the basic engineering/math concepts. | Scholastic Success: B+, Collaboration/Competitive: F | | | |

| | Quite Bright | English major here. I'm attending the online division of NYIT - Ellis College and I'm enjoying it tremendously. I was three classes short of completing my degree from a reputable traditional college, but as a single mother, had I known about the quality of this option, I would have taken it. I find that self-study has a way of making you become more involved in your studies. This time around, I feel like I'm really getting the most value for my education. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Campus Aesthetics: F | | | |

| | Bright | New York Institute is a good school in terms of academics. The classes are straightforward. If you know the subject and study, you'll pass the exams and quizzes. However, social life is terrible. There isn't much to do. If you don't have a car, you'll be bored. There aren't many clubs and the basketball gym isn't that nice. If you are strictly for education, then you'll like it but the chance of you continually being bored is high. I thought of myself as a boring person before moving in, but now i know its real meaning. It makes me think that stony brook would have been better, since theres more things to do and its cheaper. I probably won't be dorming here next year. The dorm and the campus with the classes are not together. You have to take a shuttle bus in order to get from one to another if you don't drive or dont want to waste gas money. It gets kind of annoying. Also there are no restaurants on campus- no burger king, mcdonalds, or anything, just the school cafe, which closes weekends. Overall, this school will get you your degree, which should be your main priority, but fun is not around here. | Perceived Campus Safety: A+, Social Life: F | | | |
