Like the faculty...they work hard and are the lowest paid faculty in the entire SUNY system. They make less than pre-K teachers in Sullivan County. Campus needs to focus more on safety and discipline of trouble-makers.
Education Quality: A, Perceived Campus Safety: D

Not so bright
Well, the College is actually okay in academics and in social relations. The Dining hall and the Union( chill place) are the worst places to be due to childish behavior. The professors here are actually quite informative and comprehensive, but many students here are close-minded and arrogant beyond belief.Social life is okay if you like to be loud and stupid in certain locations, but if you like to study you can head to the library to get some quality studying time without interruptions by idiots. Not much positives on the clubs or activities and the restrooms look like crap due to students not using them appropriately and also having the baddest hygiene like not washing their hands after using the bathroom.Kindergarten stuff, lol Nasty stuff. But,this college is great with starting academics for newly graduated high schoolers and also it's affordable. The bad side is that the majority student's are immature and arrogant but the professors are actually great, especially sociologist Mr.Lambert. Usually students can comprehend his lectures or even try to understand his Into to Sociology class. Very interesting class you ask me. If you can tolerate idiots and get some academics for a good price SCCC is the place to go. It's education people.

In 20 years of my life, I have never attended a more poorly run, violent, miserable excuse of an institution than SCCC. First and foremost, Your so-called "academic advisers" are not trained to properly advise anyone. Since I first attended SCCC in the fall of 08, I had been slated for graduation 3 different times only to find out at the last second that due to an error on behalf of my adviser, I was ineligible for graduation. When I presented my issue to the dept. chairperson, I was told that this happens to students every single semester and that I will not be the last person this happens to. Furthermore, nothing could be done to rectify the issue. Secondly, the professors in general all seem to carry around this unprofessional arrogance in that they are flawless and are doing you a favor simply by showing up for each class. Seeing them for help outside of class is also a hassle as (at least in my experience), they are seldom in their office during posted office hours. Even if you manage to catch professors in their office, they are quite cold and really just make you feel stupid for bothering them while they have so much work to do. This condescending attitude is bliss in SCCC while the social life is no better. Socially speaking, SCCC is full of your garden variety of high school cliques who taunt and bully students mercilessly knowing full well that the faculty doesn?t give a damn. Being in the student union does truly bring back an aura of being in middle school with all of the overwhelming immaturity. Even If you grades were dirt poor in High School, avoid this college like the plague that it is
