For the 3 and a half years IQuite BrightComputer Science
For the 3 and a half years I have attended, I feel that I have gotten what I thought I would recieve out of college. The CS program is good, not perfect, but certainly able to give any student a decent chance at challenging themselves. It's hard to compare Binghamton against more expensive universities, but if you want a decent CS education at a price that's a bit more comfortable for someone who isn't well off, this is a great place.

I loved my timeSuper BrilliantComputer Science
I loved my time at Binghamton. The teachers encouraged me to pursue advanced topics and were all extremely friendly. I felt like part of the family. The program isn't perfect, but it is very good and I recommend it to everyone.

Question
Sorry, but Binghamton just plain sucks.Quite BrightUndecided
Sorry, but Binghamton just plain sucks. The administration is greedy. They claim that they've had to put freshman into "triples" (3 people stuffed into a 160 square foot room designed for 2 people) because they had no way of expecting SOOOOO many upperclassmen to choose to live on campus. They even blame it on 9/11. Bullshit. The fact is that they accept way more people than can be accomodated, and want every penny they can get. The campus is dreary, ugly, and depressing. The City of Binghamton is several miles away and is even more depressing. The only thing I like about this place is getting drunk on the weekends and telling random people at parties Joe Pesci's story from GoodFellas then acting out the "Why am I funny?" scene when they laugh. I am depressed and lonely here. The students are a bunch of stupid Long Islanders who all came with a whole network of friends. Long Island tends to produce arrogant and cliquish people due to its geographic configuration. I once told a Long Islander I was from Westchester and he didn't even know what that was. Pretty sad since it's only about 45 minutes from LI. The food sucks even more here. I've lost 7 pounds since I got here in late August (it's Dec 14 today) I'm not saying that as a good thing. I'm seriously considering not coming back next year. The walk to class is 10-15 minutes and it's always too cold here.
