I honestly didn't want to go to Binghamton University. I wanted to go to an Ivy or NYU, but somehow ended up at a state school. But I absolutely love it here. I changed my mind about being here within a day of stepping on campus.People that don't like Binghamton's social scene are people that sit in their dorm rooms and except people and activities to come to them. It doesn't work that way in any school. Yes, you have to get out there and make friends and make things happen for yourself, but that's kind of like the real world. You don't have to be a detective to find a lot of fun. Just get out of your dorm room. If you're not willing to put yourself out there, then Binghamton may not be the place for you.

the engineering program that I am in is good. other than that, the entire city of binghamton is one huge shit hole. everyone around town is either fat, ugly, on welfair, handicapped or a combination of all four as far as the townies go. oh and did i mention that they do not shower. you will not see a half-decent car in binghamton either; everyone is flat broke, including the town of binghamton itself. its actually depressing as hell to live in binghamton the only thing i have to do is attend class and smoke mad trees ... the weed is good.

I have attended one year so far at Binghamton. I thought it was one of the best experiences i have had. While the school may not be the most visually appealing and may not be in the best location, there is still plenty to do. There are so many club sports and other organizations on campus. I feel that everyone can make time in their schedule to join one or more of these on campus organizations. For me, i joined the Crew Club, and it has been the most rewarding experience I have ever committed to. Your college experience is ultimately, just earning a degree or getting into a graduate school, but at the end of the day, the clubs and organizations and other things you get involved with at the end of the day make your college experience complete. There is no reason to be miserable at Binghamton. If you don't drink, sign up for chem free housing, and meet others that dont drink. I heard people talking about roommates keeping them up or waking them up - i try go to bed at 11 or 12, which i do, and i wake up at 5 without waking my roommate up. This will or will not be an issue at any college you go to.I hope this helped!
