 | Bright | I can only advise against attending Brockport. Especially if you are not an 18-22 year old living off of your parents' income, or living off loans in the dorms. This is not a commuter or transfer-friendly university. | Friendliness: B+, Education Quality: F | | | |

| | Quite Bright | My overall experience at Brockport was successful, but not overly rewarding. As with any institution, some professors made me question my decision to transfer, and complete my Bachelors in Criminal Justice. Overall I would give the professors of the major a "B+", with some minor exceptions not making it an "A" or "A+". I did not hold the foreign language department in high regards, advocating a complete review of their professors condescending, unprofessional, demeanors; I have in particular, but I will leave nameless. At the beginning of my time at Brockport, I had a professor misplace assignments, almost causing me to fail the course. With no support from the Chairperson of my major in Criminal Justice, I am grateful for the support of fellow students that advocated on my behalf; making it possible to end the course with an "A-" instead of a "D", or even failed. Unfortunately, I completed my time at Brockport receiving a "D+" in Spanish from a condescending professor with an unprofessional and horrible attitude. She put more emphasis on the online tutorial, instead of her instruction, even to direct all questions about the material to the online support of the Pearson Spanish Lab. I was dissatified utilizing financial aid for a college course, where the professor did not perform to satisfaction, and for the issues with particular professor not be a subject of interest, when I addressed it with the chairperson of my major on more than one occassion. It satisfactory to barely pass in his opinion with a "D+", which is unsettling in the least. It was suggested to take this before the board, and fight for a better grade. My concern was: if this wasn't an isolated event with the professor, and previous semesters, students complained about her conduct, why wasn't addressed before; and why should students complain about the same issues over and over again, because institutions fail to correct the negative actions of their staff. As students are held to higher standards, enforceable by the "Student Code of Conduct", professors should be held to higher standards in conjunction. | Collaboration/Competitive: B, Scholastic Success: D | | | |
