Number #1 place to be raped in NewNot so brightEducation
Number #1 place to be raped in New York state is Cortland....the Cortland authorities will confirm. Don't trust the taxi drivers. There's meth & drunks. The school is pretty. But its not safe for women. The locals think rape is not a big deal...both men & women residents of cortland are doing nothing about rape, domestic violence. The town is depressed economically nothing to do. It was a mistake to come here.

Question
I am a first semester freshman at SunyQuite BrightKinesiology
I am a first semester freshman at Suny Cortland and saying this is the worst college would be an understatement. About three girls i know personally have been raped and an email is sent out weekly about a campus rape. It is extremely scary walking around campus when it gets dark. When walking to any of your classes you can enjoy the lovely view of the graveyard. Everyone here is miserable, nasty or an ignorant redneck. If you are not on a sports team or involved in greek life you will be bored to tears. Sororities and Fraternities haze like no other school. Everyone gets black out drunk every night and I personally love to go out and drink but this is a ridiculous amount. After about three days at the school no one seems to want to make friends here. The town is disgusting!!!!! Majority of the freshman here are forced into a triple which you will not get out until second semester. I tried keeping an open mind by joining clubs and trying out for sports teams but that alone will take up about 30 minutes of my week. i already know 3 other people on my floor that are planning on transferring out second semester and I am doing the same. The in state tuition isn't worth the misery you will experience if you attend suny cortland.

Question
I am a military veteran using the GIQuite BrightPolitical Science
I am a military veteran using the GI bill. As a non-traditional student this school was terrible. First, there is no parking less than a mile away from most of the campus. This makes commuting a real challenge, especially if you have kids. Second, every time I have dealt with financial aid, or any other administrative office, they have been impatient and rude. I live with the constant regret knowing I could have gone to a better school.
