This school is pretty tough work-wise, expect toBrightBiology
This school is pretty tough work-wise, expect to be challenged, even if you were doing pretty well in your school. I went from a 3.7 overall GPA in high school to a 2.7 my first semester. If you do put in the effort, there's ample opportunities for tutors and study groups available to you. Teacher's are great, and there's lots of experience here that you would definitely not get at other schools not as focused on the environment as we are.My biggest issue with the school is not with the professors or students, but with the administration department. It seems like the entire thing is nothing but a business venture to them, and if you're like me and out of state without parental financial support, expect no pity. The offered loans under Parent PLUS were denied, so I ended up paying for rent, food, and making school payments on my own working part time while attending school full time, despite doing quite a bit outside of classes for the school. I was told I wasn't poor enough for work study at one point as well. Out of state students be warned.

Question
Because this school is so specific you'll knowQuite Bright
Because this school is so specific you'll know if you are going to love it the moment you hear about it and if you don't love it the moment you hear about it, it's probably not the right place for you, even though the price is right. Generally, if you love the school's purpose, but you are concerned with if there are going to be too many hippies, then hang out with the kids at SU. It's the best of both worlds and despite being "easy" to get into, ESF is a progressive institution and it's continuously providing education rival to more "noteworthy" schools. Any employer in the fields that are focused on at ESF know about the quality of the graduates. Therefore it is rather challenging for an average student.
