I would not reccomend O-State. I failed out and went back to SUNY Albany another shool I do not recommend. I finally graduated from NYU as a CFP(r) and plan to finish my masters in Financial Planning in 2006. I am not lazy and scored a 1200 on the SAT. Oneonta just fails its students in subpar professors and academics. On the flipside the school is very good socially and you will learn how to socialize which is important in business

Oneonta is a decent school. However, when making the decision to go away to college I highly recommend the you take into consideration the location. The weather is very bad in the winter at times, and although students are friendly I found that most people stayed with in their circle of friends.

The Music Industry major here is excellent. There is lots of hands on work, and every one of the professors I've had has been excellent. These people have had real-life experience and know their stuff. The campus here is gorgeous, that's one of the things I liked about it the most. As for the night life, i'm not one to party too hard, but it's not that difficult finding somewhere to go. If you're used to a small-town environment, Oneonta is very comfortable, not too big and not too small. If you're coming from a big city, though, could be a little weird for you adjusting to small-town life.
