Purchaes is a place where a student not only learns, but learns to learn. The faculty are brimming with information and experience to share with students. The students are oen, expressive and friendly. Any college can offer courses taught from a book, Purchase offers a true learning/growing experience.

I was searching for some other school on this website and thought I would check out my old school. I was kinda shocked, but then again looking at the profiles of the people who were giving negative review, it makes sense. for those of you who do wear "J Crew", were looking for frat party fridays, or hoping there would be only white heterosexual humans then purchase may not be for you.

but the school does have a really good student government that provides something to do every night of the week. the activities may seem a little strange, but they are designed by the students, not some office of adults trying to figure out how to stop you from drinking. the people who say they are in their room sitting alone are losers and should transfer. purchase isn't about exclusionism. people who think that are probably intollerant of anothers lifestyle choices. if your interested in meeting new people from varried back grounds and aren't afraid to walk up to someone new and say hello then I would suggest that you join the army or go to jail or do something thats designed for people who believe they have no freedom of choice.

the academics at purchase have been historically radical, a term that most students now adays don't understand. while you study a political science class at another university and learn about the american court system, at purchase you may be taking course on human rights abuses.

in terms of the campus being isolated, its half true. yes a car does help you get to the supermarket and conneticut liquors, but the bus system does run on time, free and comes frequently. theres a small town located just south of the train station, thats only 30 minutes away. its called new york. i got sick of the sight of peoples negative opinion that its impossible to get down there: those people are lazy and quite possibly afraid of getting lost. but again, those people should've went to a better school, one that tucks you in at night with a bottle, makes sure that you're learning the right things, and one which mom and dad can be proud that their child is getting some overbeuaracratically run expensive POS.My last rant: I really don't like it when people point out that purchase has a large gay community, at least in a negative way. for guys, if you have a problem that there are a lot of gay young men on campus you are retarded. do the math, more hetero women. for girls, just stop really, go join a sorory.
Perceived Campus Safety: A+, Friendliness: F
