I wouldnt go there unless I was a dancer or artist..... ever. the professors think they know it all when they are all idiots and the TA's have no idea what they are talking about, so they arent helpful either. otherwise... white plains which is down the street has great things to do, and a good mall or two, and the people there are nice. Generally, the views held by most students are liberal. Purchase is known as an 'artsy' school, having a large lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered population. The faculty at Purchase was exceptionally bright and talented (particularly in psychology and literature - those were my majors). If I had to do it all over again - I would at Purchase College.
