Honestly after my first year at Alfred State I was very satisfied with my college experiance. Sure it is not a top notch school but thats not what you are paying for. Overall if you put your self out there you will find that most people are open minded and willing to help. That is if you PUT YOUR SELF OUT THERE. As far as activities on campus goes there are plenty if you keep updated, lots of events in the dorm usually a event from the Alfed Programing Board once a week and sometimes more. Alfred like all colleges is really what you make of it, if you are an outgoing fun loving person strongly consider. Main reason for not liking the school is if all your really plan on doing is drinking, sitting around and doing nothing... and well we dont want you here anyways. Trust me there is a lot more going on in this small little town if you ask around and find the events, sorry folks its not high school they are not going to spoon feed them to you.

Super Brilliant
Please come to Alfred with an open mind. There is a lot of trash talking on this board. It's not a school for people who expect to be entertained every second. There is a lot of natural beauty and it's a great place to be if you like the outdoors.

Alfred is nice because it's small enough to see people that you know but has a great deal of diversity.

I tried to keep a balance between school and social life while at Alfred State. I believe my field of study helped me to be where I am today.

I absolutly loved Alfred State College. My experience was wonderful and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I was not from a rural area but I fell in love with the town, (yes it is small, but historic) I have made friends for life and had the very best social experience I could have asked for. I spent every weekend at school that I was able to, everyone knew everyone else on campus and it was terrific. I would highly recommend Alfred to anyone!
