Question
I'm currently attending SUNY Canton as a transferQuite BrightCriminal
I'm currently attending SUNY Canton as a transfer student and thus far I like it a lot. I am originally from the area but I moved away from my first year only to return and attend Canton. The transfer process wasn't bad, they took most of my credits from my last college and put them towards my new degree. It worked out well for my because it will help me to graduate a year early. All the courses are well taught and the instructors work with you when you have problems and/or questions. The faculty is quite approachable if you have problems. The college currently put together a club that responds to students feedback. The SUNY Canton Customer Service club; this club is dedicated to taking any feeback good or bad and doing something about it. Thus far it has worked wonderfully! All the students at the campus has goals that they strive to meet and 9 times out of 10 they excel and go far beyond their goal. the Criminal Justice and Criminal Investigations program is AMAZING. There are many clubs and organizations you can be part of. There are also many different honor societies open for the students usually in their degree program. The campus has it's own HUGE campus store with a lot of personalized college gear. There are quite a few different cafes and restaurants on the campus that you can eat at during the day and the food is quite good. The library is a great place to study and hang out, they have a small starbucks with a limited variety of coffee but it's still starbucks. The library has many different study room to hang out in. The college has set up many different "labs" to give students extra help; they have labs that help with Math, Science, English, and many more. They have a Computer Technology office that will help you with any computer related problems you have. The instructors are nice and some of the students can be even nicer. This college is not a DRY campus, you can have alcohol in the Dorms if you of age to drink. If you are caught underage drinking and/or serving minors you will get in trouble with University Police. Just like all SUNY schools Canton has University Police that are a division of the NY State Troopers. The police are reasonable and nice just like the students and faculty. The bad sides are: Most of the students are from NYC and/or are African-American due to the campus activating their affirmative action policy. The dorms are not well kept but they are co-ed. Some students are very snooty and arrogant. Quite a few students are from gangs in the city and are only there for the Criminal Justice program so they can get and keep their fellow gang members out of prison. There has been a history of two near fatal stabbings on the campus. The food at the dinner hall sucks. But all around there are more good things than bad about this college.

Question
All and all Canton is not that bad.Quite BrightCriminal
All and all Canton is not that bad. Some days it sucks but that's college. The weather and snow are probably the biggest downfall, but welcome to northern,NY. Even the snow has it's benefits, for instance canceled classed and cheap planned ski trips. Dorm living here really is not to bad. You will meet a lot of people you will probably be really good friends with or at least be entertained by. Its nice to know that by living on campus you only have to wake up a few minutes before your first class because its just up the hill. I'm in a sorority here and the social life here is pretty lively. If your not someone who likes to go out and party then you might nit enjoy it so much. There will always be people in the dorms playing all sorts of video games and guitar hero, you can always go to the tick tock and dance if that is your thing or join a club sports team. The school itself really is not that bad. They do expect you to keep your grades up and go to class or you will get kicked out. It's a small friendly campus where you can walk in the halls have conversations and see familiar faces, yet there is still some unknown.
