Trocaire is a two year career college, that being said, one should not expect the student population to be academically strong. There are very few instructors who hold degrees above the Master's level. In addition, the nursing faculty is not in tune with what is going on today. Some of the nursing faculty do not use modern technology. Nursing faculty can be very unprofessional. There is very little room for greivances to be addressed. Nursing program directors generally do not want to address the issues. The LPN program is horribly run! Be aware that the school is not incredibly diverse, school population and mindset of students reflect WNY, very closeminded, limited interaction with people from various backgrounds/ethnicites etc...

Not so bright
I am currently a 3rd semester nursing student with a 3.4ave. To talk about Trocaire with anything less than complete disgust would not do it justice. Starting for the beginning of my normal day, I live 20min away but have to get up half an hour earilier to look for parking. Walking up to the school, I will even admit they have made some alterations to the school to be better on the eyes, but still is in the middle of South Buffalo. Now here is where half of my frustraion really begins, it is a small Catholic school, of which our tuition matches Universities and we have nothing to show for it. I have been in classes where students have to sit on the window sill. No Gym, No AC, No Food Service ( unless you call ABBOTT Pizza being delivered a worthy substitute ). Since I will only speak of my program's expierence. First semester was a FANTASTIC expierence and FANTASTIC instructors. Then came second semester and so forth. Putting it politely, it is an outdated program, with ignorant, rude, demeaning instructors!!! The program director hasnt seen the inside of a hospital in years and her subordinates are very much stuck in their ways and will have nothing to do with anything outside of "The Trocaire Way" Trocaire's Sim Lab is a joke with non-functioning manequins, NO supplies despite our lab fee's, and a fully stocked video library with all of the best hits from 1970. Guys its not all bad, but your dollar can take you much farther and with the same if not better education.
