I am entering my Senior year at Utica College and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Campus life is very pleasant and safe. The campus is effectively centralized on one contiguous plot of land, and Even without an automobile, a student could briskly walk from one end of the College to the other in less than ten minutes.
There is a ton to do on and off campus. Anybody who can't have fun at Utica can't have fun anyplace.
I've always been challenged academically and socially at UC. It has been a great way to spend my college years.

If you're interested in Broadcast Journalism, I strongly recommend you enroll in classes with David Chanatry. He has network experience that is invaluable. Hopefully more students will be drawn to this field as a result of the Media Convergence Center at Utica College. The industry needs good writers.

Utica College is a great place to get your work done because there isnt too much to do.Its pretty boring and you really have to make your fun.I dont think the extreme cost of the tution measures up to the quality of school. We really dont have good events where many people come..except very rare parties, except one year with Kayne West.We simply are paying for the name..utica college of syracuse. Many of the students come from the city ,I am one myself and many arent the nicest ppl.The campus doesnt have alot of people ,so small school drama is evident.I would really consider whether utica is for you,you can get your work done but there are many ways you can suffer socially. Many ppl this freshman class have left, and i dont see utica as a place i could evr truly be happy,so i would make my descion wisely...and if you do go there, stay low key!!

I chose Utica College because when I visited, I felt welcome by the people I met. They weren't trying to sell the college to me, but rather they got to know me and what I wanted in a college. I am going into my senior year and I have had a great experience. I have good professors and have gained a lot of confidence from the responsibility and challenged UC has given me.
Now, I know that every college has its negative points and UC is no exception. However, to make claims about "rape rates" and that there is nothing to do on or off campus is a lie. I feel secure on the campus, but I also know I have to use common sense too. Nothing to do on or off campus?! You have got to be kidding! There is so much to do, but a good time isn't going to come and get you out of your dorm room. Go to some events and meet people. Join a club. be proactive, don't sulk in your room feeling sorry for yourself because you are bored.
There are great faculty, but there are also some that can be arrogant and condescending. The student body is a mix and for such a small school, the diversity is amazing. I have friends from all geographic, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. When I see people calling Utica "ghetto" and say it's all "black people" from NYC, it only makes me thankful that poster decided not to return to UC.
I can only say that UC isn't for everyone and posting lies because you didn't like it is pathetic. I honestly think that up until college, everyone (parents, teachers, coaches, etc.) bent over backwards to help you and do everything for you and when you got to UC, UC made you do for yourself and you can't handle that.
