Athletics are great. Small campus makes for easily accessible faculty members. Small community feeling, with a lot going on (if you go out and find it).

I am a first year student at UC, as an active member on campus i must say that many of the positive and negative comments are quite true. The up side to UC are: the science and nursing programs and health fields (ot, pt), the Crimnal Justice and ECI as well as business programs, the jounalism and communications program and the Child Life Pschology program these programs will most likely get you a job after college, all others are either mediocre or crappy. The dorms are not amazing but they aren that bad either and have WAY less rules than most other colleges. Many people here are from NYC and Boston. The school is VERY segregated by race. Blacks, Whites, Hispanics and Asian usual hang out with each other although there is very little exeption. All the preffesors I have had have been great and even go beyond there office hours to be helpful. The academic scene her is GREAT. The socail is not completely boring it is honestly entirely what you make it, the bars and clubs are ehre for all races and types of parties its your personality that will make them anything else. The town is not college freindly ur meal money can only be used on campus n the cab services are rude. It isnt all that but I have come to realize its not that bad. Im transferring but I dont hate it any more, I would just prefer a school with better psychology networking opportunities. Honestly if ur from NYC, NY boston, LI, youl probably love it or pretend to hate it because there is a whole bunch of us up here

Utica College is a great place to get your work done because there isnt too much to do.Its pretty boring and you really have to make your fun.I dont think the extreme cost of the tution measures up to the quality of school. We really dont have good events where many people come..except very rare parties, except one year with Kayne West.We simply are paying for the name..utica college of syracuse. Many of the students come from the city ,I am one myself and many arent the nicest ppl.The campus doesnt have alot of people ,so small school drama is evident.I would really consider whether utica is for you,you can get your work done but there are many ways you can suffer socially. Many ppl this freshman class have left, and i dont see utica as a place i could evr truly be happy,so i would make my descion wisely...and if you do go there, stay low key!!
