Many people out of high school think they want the small school enviroment then come to realize how much they hate it. People choose a smaller school because they do not want to be another number in a crowd. Not suprisingly, freshman often end up dissatisfied because they do not get involved on campus, they do not form personal relationships with the faculty and administration, and they do not attend sporting and other events on campus. Gossip can run rampant at small schools and sometimes it seems everyone knows everything about everyone. More than once I have given this advice to unhappy freshman only to find them a semester later having the time of their lives. If you are going to choose Wagner, remember why you chose a small school to begin with and don't be another face in the crowd.

Wagner College was the worst school I'd ever seen. I was so disgusted that I left after one semester. It was dirty, unkempt, and unsanitary. The faculty saw you as dollar signs... $35000 that they receive upon a students entrance to the school each year. The much touted theatre program was a complete bust. The theatre students acted like children and everything in their shows was a "wink wink" to the audiences. Students are not treated like the adults that they are. They are treated like children, but that's probably because most students act that way! Wagner does not push to get you out into the "real world" in four years, but keeps you there as long as possible to squeeze more money out of you. The campus is loud, often trashed, and a majority of the students are completely wasted every night. Wagner College is a complete party school. Students are arrogant and couldn't care less that mommy and daddy are pulling money out of their asses to get them there and all they do is drink. The academics are hardly challenging. I'd done tougher work in grade school than I did at Wagner. If you want check pluses and smiley faces on papers that you put a ton of work into, Wagner is for you. If you're stuck up and think only you are the greatest thing since sliced bread... Wagner will be your haven. And yes, Wagner is 30 minutes to Manhattan, but no one ever goes because it really takes about 2hrs to get to the point in the city where you would like to be... and that's hitting all the subways just right. Wagner is disgusting and I'm sorry for my time wasted there.

Wagner College costs the same as going to NYU. I would have expected a lot more for the money. Tuition is expensive, and you're only allowed to take 9 classes a year. Give me a break! For all that money they should let us take what we want. I have to take summer classes in order to graduate in 4 years. Most classwork is easy enough, just turn in your papers on time. Some kids are really spoiled, they drive fancy cars and always complain whenever they get homework. A lot of them are your typical a-yo Staten Island types. The athletes can get away with anything too. The food is OK, and the plays are pretty good. I think Wagner puts more money into the lawn than anything else. Some of my professors left this year, including my advisor. If you don't mind taking the bus shuttle, you can get to the ferry and go into Manhattan when you want to get off campus.
