While sometimes it can be frustrating trying to work everything out, overall I feel like both the staff and faculty do their best to help the students out. I'm finishing up my associates degree in the near future and I'll be starting as a junior at a four year institution, after having spent a year and a half at Cincinnati State and about 1/3 as much money as I would have spent at University of Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky University. While there is some room for improvement overall I'm very happy that I decided to go to Cincinnati State. Useful Schoolwork: A+, Social Life: C Have a Question? I am an older student (48). I am very dissappointed with the environment of this school. It is an out of control 3 ring circus. The campus police department is a joke. People blocking narrow thru ways with their cars, sitting in illegal areas, parking in handicaped spots w/o permits, car stereos blaring(there is a noise law in this city). In the halls people hang out and laugh and carry on while classes are being held - this is very distracting. The library is as noisy as any place on campus so don't plan to get any work done there. The worst offenders are employees. The one parking garage is supposed to be for students who bought parking passes but the gates are open in the morning allowing any one to park, whats tthe point. Campus police dept is a joke. Parking is limited so people are blocking the roads between parking lots, people park in handicapped spots w/o permits - loud music blairing in the parking garages. Most of the people hear are extremely rude, the library is like trying to study next to the freeway and some of the worst noise makers work here. Students congrigate in the halls being very loud while classes are in session. This is a sad commentary of our society in general and the fact this school allows it to happen on their property is a big concern. It is very disruptive.
