There is the Miami stereotype: rich, snobby, pretty, Greek. It's funny though, because a lot of people do not think they fit that stereotype. Most people can find their niche at Miami. Although the Greek life is prominent, if you are not Greek (like myself) you can still find things to do. There are many organizations, club and intramural sports, music programs and religious groups to get involved in. The dining services people work very hard, and do very well (as good as college food could be I suppose!). The campus is beautiful, although there is construction a lot of buildings.

I've almost completed my first year at Miami.. and I have had experiences, both good and bad. My first semester was hard, I seriously considered transferring, however second semester I began to get involved in things, other than the Greek community. I am in a business/marketing fraternity and have enjoyed it thus far. However, like any other university, it is very easy to get pulled into the social scene. The classes are challenging and definitely require effort. Overall, you'll enjoy Miami if you're willing to be outgoing and find something or somewhere that makes you feel comfortable. ;)

MU is just a bunch of snotty upper middle class kids who have inflated intellectual egos. Most students are superficial, insecure and worried about their image. 90% of the student body won’t acknowledge you when you pass them on the sidewalk. Diversity and culture are two other problems plaguing the campus and causing racial tension between students. Miami lacks a sense of personal individuality and is notorious for the student body’s voracious appetite for designer clothes, tanning, exercising and bleaching. Image is so important in the hierarchy of Miami University that there is a severe problem w/ eating disorders.
