Your buck id breaks or doesn't scan constantly. The pop machines at campus dining don't work, the run out of food constantly, and they are in no hurry to provide good food fast. Since you pay for your meals before school starts they basically rob incoming freshmen tell them that they need 150 swipes when everyone ends up with 40 left at the end of the quarter. The entire campus and high street is just dirty. The dorms are horrible, since the school is so huge they jam as many kids into tiny rooms as they can. The worst part is you spend all this money to be educated and you get teachers and ta's who do not speak a word of english. Plus the classes with the exception of math have been so easy i feel like i am wasting my money. Don't take calc 151 or 152 here take it at home or in the summer. They make it as hard as possible for no reason. I took Calculus in high school didn't test out with my ap score so i took it again at ohio state. I got a B in high school and a C minus at Ohio state over the same material. They give you no time to take the tests its just set up the worst possible way. If they tell you how your previous credits will transfer, save it. They told me that my Japanese would transfer as Japanese 101, 102, and 103. Turns out that without the letter, they couldn't give me the credit. Not to mention that if you are a type two from attending other colleges, OSU will still treat you as a freshman but deny you stuff like freshman forgiveness. Be prepared for people working jobs that they don't know how to do. Lose your buck ID and you're screwed. The dorm staffs don't know what they are doing and most likely the temporary cards are demagnetized. The dorm staffs have had this problem before, but they don't do anything to remedy it. Double check everything twice. If you aren't dirt poor, don't expect work-study and don't expect to get a job on campus outside of Ohio State Calling or food service for the first year. Everything is work study except those two and the occasional lab job that requires you to be a sophomore or junior. Bikes get stolen a lot on campus and some TAs don't care or have no idea what they talking about. Then my sister also had an experience where she was told she could graduate and she received her diploma. A few days later she was told that she did not have enough credits to graduate so she made an appointment with her counselor. Turns out that she had graduated. OSU acts like it is the Harvard of the Midwest. Actually, most students I have met feel they are getting an adequate, but not exempl1ary education.
