| Average | Almost everyone on campus is friendly and willing to help you in any way. It's great because you can get the education of The Ohio State University with smaller classes. There is free food and entertainment at least once a week in the student union. Don't take geography, the professor is an ass. It is a nice place to go though and I have for the most part been satisfied with my experience. | Campus Maintenance: A+, Extracurricular Activities: D | | | |

Honestly, the only reason that I went to Mansfield is because I didn't get into the main campus and I figured "I'll just spend a year here and then transfer to columbus, and, hey, it's still OSU right?" I was dead wrong. Mansfield was a horrible place to spend a year, quite possibly the worst year of my life. The Professors were pretty clueless about their own subject material and the courses themselves seemed remedial. When I finally transfered to the real OSU, Columbus campus, the first thing I realized, after how happy I was to be out of Mansfield, was that I was completely unprepared to take a "real" college course. That is the reason that I have to take 5 years of college now. Because Mansfield left me unprepared and uneducated.
As for the social life, there really is none to speak of. Everybody lives in a very cramped group of apartment style buildings and the RA's make sure that noone is having any fun at all. I didn't even feel all that safe on campus. It's dark, surrounded by woods, and there was almost no safety force to speak of. The city of Mansfield itself is dirty, run down, unsafe, and just generally horrible. There was absolutely no where to hang out; just to show you how boring the city is, we eventually just decided to hang out at Joez Lounge in the Mansfield inn. There is no place to work, unless you feel like working at a steel mill. Basically there is just absolutely, positively, nothing to do. I was constantly bored out of my mind. It was horrible. My advice to any prospective students out there is this; don't go here! It's boring, has horrible education, and is not even safe. This was easily the worst year of my life and writing about it has only made me remember all of these horrible memories. Please, heed my warning. Do not go here! Go anywhere else. Just not here. | Individual Value: C+, Scholastic Success: F | | | |
