I am now going into my senior year and I can truly say that these past four years have been the best years of my life. I have met the most amazing people and have received an excellent education. Although, OU is a "party school" students definitely need to study and manage their time. I think for most students the motto is "work hard, play hard." No matter what school you go to you need to put the effort forth to enhance your educational experience. Students who succeed at OU have internships, are members of clubs, and study often. It's not like its in your face all day and night whether you want it there or not. Additionally as an African American, the subculture is not like that at all. There's plenty of fun and nightlife for the minority community, but it's not at all out of control. As for the psychology program, I did quite well finishing with 3.8 in psych. Many psych majors did not do that well. Not to sound arrogant or anything, but don't take that GPA to mean its a not a difficult program. It's not ridiculous, but its not easy either. I was recruited right on campus as a research assistant at Cincinnati Children's. I graduated on a friday and my first day of work was the following Monday. There were resources and opportunities made available to me personally to go right into grad school, but I wanted to work first (i'm in grad now GWU). OU is what you make it, it doesn't make you. I narrowed down to OSU or OU. I chose OU because it was smaller, professors were more accessible and OSU's campus and people couldn't hold a candle to OU. In the pscyh department the professors are great and research experience is a part of the curriculum. Campus Aesthetics: A+, Faculty Accessibility: C- Have a Question?
