My first year was very challenging but I made it through because I used all the resources they make available to me. Ohio wesleyan isn't for everyone. You have to be confident with yourself and so you know that you can achieve the grades you want (because it is difficult) and to make friends. You need to learn to balance work and socializing because both are very important in being happy at owu.

Not so bright
OWU is an awesome place. I absolutely love my experience here! It is not for everyone. Many people come here to party and have to leave after a year or two. The science courses are really hard but the professors are absolutely engaged in our learning. Come to OWU if you are looking for a small liberal arts college, a left-leaning student body and and excellent academics. If you are looking for a big school, partying and are not so much into academics, you should look for another college.

I was wary of going to college in Ohio because I am from New England where everyone thinks there are no good schools west of the Delaware River. However, I have been very impressed not only with the quality of the education here, but also by how nice the people are (probably because not all are from New England!) I have made some great friends and have had to work hard to get good grades; the classes are not easy! I don't really like the town and head to Columbus whenever I can.
