University, founded in 1804, is a public, comprehensive institution. Programs
are offered through the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business,
Communication, Education, Engineering and Technology, Fine Arts, Health and Human
Services, Honors Tutorial, and University College. The main buildings on
campus are of 19th century Georgian-style architecture, one of which
has been designated a National Historic Landmark. The 1,700-acre campus is located in Athens, 75 miles southeast of Columbus. Mission
