University of Akron is an alright school. I would be really careful in what you get your degree in, especially if you are tackling a Liberal Arts degree, because Akron isn't very strong in that area. I recently interviewed for a job at Akron U after graduating and they didn't even hire one of their own, so that speaks volumes about what they think of their own school.Good luck with life if you attend this school for your college career.

This is a great place if you get involved. Join a club, a fraternity, a sport (if you can), anything. If you don't meet people you'll be miserable. UA has made great improvements in the campus and resources for students over the past 10 years. If you are part of the majority that commute or go home every weekend, you probably be resentful of attending UA.

University of Akron is very involved in the SAE design teams and often wins. This brings in more money for the team and better job offers for the students who are involved. The design teams are wonderful opportunities for engineering. University of Akron is a great, or possibly the best, university to get a practical engineering education.
