The Education department is one of the top schools in the state. Unlike many other schools in which you have your first field experience during your first year, Rio has you out in the field in for your first class! If you want to become a teacher, nurse, or a social worker this is a very fine school. Now, if you want to become a Greek, wait a year to observe the groups. Since GLO's are small here, they can change easily from one year to the next. However, I recommend that you rush :)

Quite Bright
The University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College is a wonderful school for students who do not want to get lost in the crowd. All of my professors have been very approachable and remember my name. That doesn't just apply to the ones in my major either. The professors at URG are very eager for students to learn and have no problem spending extra time with students who ask for help. The majority of students are very friendly and many friends and acquaintances can be made in just your first semester. The honors program is excellent and has fantastic advisors and the wide array of social and school organizations makes it easy toget involved with something you like.
