Wright State is what you put in academically, which is a great deal for the price. Most professors are friendly, approachable and willing to help you with your studies. The classes might be "dumbed down", but don't let that fool you, it's what you put in. Students are very diverse and you'll probably meet a lot of people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and beliefs. The social life is really fun (if you know who to hang with), but it's also mixed. Like any place, there's rude, condescending and very tempting people. You need to know where you stand! I transferred mostly because I didn't feel challenged, (I came from a top performing HS),but I've known people who've graduated and hold very successful careers, which really worked for them.

I am in a difficult major, Computer Science and feel this program at WSU has challenged me. The Computer Science/Engineering Department is a good one. They care about your progress and getting you involved in the department. They helped me get a job over the summer and I am currently working as a TA also. I think any college is what you put in to it.

Imagine if you were to create a school from scratch. But you take out all the best parts (sports to get excited about, big social scene, beautiful campus, great surrounding area, etc). And make it open admission. That's Wright State. Classes have been a joke so far, and I deeply hate this place for robbing me of my freshman year. I don't think anyone has ever hoped a year would go as fast as I do right now. Come next september, hello Ohio State! (a real college) Do not even hesitate to consider this place. If you are from here and want to stay close to home pick UD, OSU, or OU. Wright State, Wrong School.
