Great college.Quite BrightCommunications
Great college. Really does a great job of preparing you for the real world. I am church of Christ but I have many friends who are not who still have a good time. It's right next to OKC so there is a lot to do.

I am a freshman with sophomore hours atSuper BrilliantHistory/Histories (art history/etc.)
I am a freshman with sophomore hours at OC; I came in with 21 hours from Advanced Placement tests. I came to Oklahoma Christian because I was especially impressed with the small classrooms and brilliant faculty the history/political science department had to offer. I haven't had a professor who I would consider unqualified. In fact, I have had only two professors without doctorates thus far. As far as the history/political science department goes, the classes are quite rigorous and require considerable work. I did not expect to be challenged as a freshman which was a bit of a shock. Most all of the students and faculty are extremely personable and kind. The faculty take genuine interest in your life and students even have the ability to share meals and spend time with their professors outside of class. A few things I dislike would include: the drinking policy, the housing policy, and the chapel policy. OC is affiliated with the Churches of Christ, a conservative Christian sect that is against drinking in large part so drinking is not allowed on or off campus (even if you are of age), but most everyone breaks this rule. Technically, you are required to live on campus unless you have more than 120 or so hours or are 23 years older or older. Again, many people say they live with their parents and decide to live off campus where it is cheaper. Another frustrating aspect of OC is the chapel policy. Students are required to attend chapel everyday from 11 to 11:15-30, but students have 15 allowed absences. The positive side to all this is that it appears that change is on the horizon and these policies will most likely become relaxed and disappear fairly soon. I would attend here again if offered the opportunity.

It is easy to be distracted by surfacesEnglish
It is easy to be distracted by surfaces and miss out on the substance -- especially when the topic is education. OC doesn't have a great football team or a national reputation. But my classmates in my undergraduate major include a nationally-ranked collegiate coach, a surgeon, and a top energy executive. The class behind me includes a faculty member at a top medical school, a professor at OC, and an attorney/VP for the top retailer in the U.S.

All this is from an English department which graduated only a handful of majors every year back then.Something must be right. No campus is perfect, but this one did right by a lot of us!
