On the surface, the University layout is nice, very compact, but outside of the giant Stadium funded by Pickens, the campus is quite unappealing. Facilities and classrooms are average at best. The biggest culprit for my negative review for Oklahoma State is the people here. 99.9% white and close-minded, which is the worst of both worlds. The white folks overrun the campus and unfortunately are racist here towards anyone who's "different". Externally, people walk around with their heads up their ass rather than talk to you or help you out. I would say, if you don't come from Oklahoma and have a lot more options to go to a more cosmopolitan, diverse and progressive academic environment, GO FOR IT! On the surface, the school and people seem nice enough, predominantly white and hillbilly-ish. But I digress. The disturbing thing is what boils under the surface here at OSU and perhaps Oklahoma in general. The people here try to play off very folksy and kind, but there is definitely a strong semblance of racism here. The white folks that run the show like to condescend and put down minorities- blacks, asians, hispanics and clearly treat them as second class citizens. DO NOT TRUST the outward "friendliness" of anyone here for they are either trying to use you for their own gain or simply trying to put on a nice face while on the inside laughing at your "non-white" second class appearance. They even have seperate two buildings and move foreigners at one seperate building. One professor passed by and told another that it's a "dark" building. Some professor cannot grade fair and not treat student professional. There are few professors very nice (most are not). This school is pathetic. The campus is disgusting. The people are (seriously) dorky as hell. This is the easiest, most pathetic school out there. At least everyone is nice. I went Greek here. I was an SAE. Wow. The worst possible Greek system. The biggest groups of dorks who think they are rich and fratty but really have no idea what rich or fratty is. This campus is old and worn out. Crumbling to bits. Plus it's Oklahoma. Possibly the most dull state on the map. This is by far the worst school in the Big 12 overall (besides KSU). Stay away unless you want to be bored out of your mind for the next 4 years. No restaurants, no education, no social life = NO GO! Friendliness: A+, Education Quality: F Have a Question?
