| Bright | Although the university is well located, the surrounding city is pathetic at best. Coming from out of state(Colorado), I've been extremely spoiled in the city life department. Oklahoma City has Bricktown to offer, a good time...for the first month. Surroundings aside, UCO has many good programs, extremely efficient, competitive ones. However, the Biology department is not one of them. I feel that I am not being completely prepared to be completely aggresive in the application process for medical school. My suggestion is to do your research before coming. If you are interested in Criminal Justice, Funeral Sciences or Business, definitely take a second look. But if another school tickles your fancy, jump at the oppurtunity to get away from UCO. | Campus Maintenance: A+, Education Quality: F | | | |

| Bright | I will echo what others have been saying. If you're in college for the education, and almost would rather not be around the "college experience" riffraff, then UCO is DEFINITELY the place for you. The professors are top notch. They are very well educated and personable, and unlike other big public universities, they are very accessible. If you are wanting to go to UCO for anything other than the classwork and quality professors, than I suggest you look elsewhere. If you are not a commuter/do not have a house, family, etc., then you will find yourself in the minority at UCO. As such, the college often cater to the working commuters and offer some classes exclusively at night. Campus involvement is very low, though if you want to find a leadership position or take on a challenge, this could be a plus. The only other significant problem I have encountered at UCO is the Enrollment Management segment: anything having to do with financial aid, admissions, or advisement is over-stretched, and very unhelpful. As an example, there are only 4 freshman advisors to cover 5000 entering freshman. Because they are overworked, they are very unfriendly. Basically, if you are wanting to get that little piece of paper and get a good education along the way, then your money will be well spent here. If you are a traditional student and wanted college to provide you with activities and be this amazing 4 years out of your life...DON'T apply within. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Campus Aesthetics: D- | | | |

| Quite Bright | UCO is a school for people who just care about getting their degree and moving on with their life. It is not for people interested in the whole "college experience". They only have about eight sororities/fraternities and there is not much of an interest in student organizations. I think it's a good school since the faculty are generally pretty helpful and they are incredibly interested in getting you a job...and the necessary steps it takes to get there. I think it's a great school for non-traditional students...people who are married/have families and are just using their education to help them advance in finding a better job. It could also be for people who are solely interested in getting a pretty decent education so that they can find a job. I don't mean to make UCO sound so bland...but it's the truth. | Preparedness: -, Reputation: - | | |

| Quite Bright | I personally thoroughly enjoyed my experience at UCO. I took a wide variety of classes from science & match, to art & design, liberal arts, business, and journalism and found the faculty in each college to be very friendly, helpful and accessible. I graduated over a year ago but I am still taking classes simply because I enjoy the learning process and the environment at UCO. I concentrated my education particularly in business and liberal arts, and I feel that the faculty in both colleges are dedicated and personally invested. I felt challenged and engaged by the professors and learned to think critically about my life and the world around me. The support staff in university center leaves a bit to be desired. The undergrad advisors give less than satisfactory advice, and the financial aid department is a grossly frustrating encounter. The best advice I can give in dealing with these two offices is to find a friend who has been there and done that to help you through. =) | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Surrounding City: C+ | | | |
