It is not for people interested in the whole "college experience". They only have about eight sororities/fraternities and there is not much of an interest in student organizations. I think it's a good school since the faculty are generally pretty helpful and they are incredibly interested in getting you a job...and the necessary steps it takes to get there. I think it's a great school for non-traditional students...people who are married/have families and are just using their education to help them advance in finding a better job. It could also be for people who are solely interested in getting a pretty decent education so that they can find a job. I don't mean to make UCO sound so bland...but it's the truth. I took a wide variety of classes from science & match, to art & design, liberal arts, business, and journalism and found the faculty in each college to be very friendly, helpful and accessible. I graduated over a year ago but I am still taking classes simply because I enjoy the learning process and the environment at UCO. I concentrated my education particularly in business and liberal arts, and I feel that the faculty in both colleges are dedicated and personally invested. I felt challenged and engaged by the professors and learned to think critically about my life and the world around me. The support staff in university center leaves a bit to be desired. The undergrad advisors give less than satisfactory advice, and the financial aid department is a grossly frustrating encounter. The best advice I can give in dealing with these two offices is to find a friend who has been there and done that to help you through. =) Faculty Accessibility: A+, Surrounding City: C+ Have a Question? There are mostly pro-student professors and a few very negative people. Avoid the negative ones. Research is OK, although some professors don't do much. Try and find someone who will work with you.
