School faculty and staff are not sensitive to matters such as religious practices which do not allow certain activities such as (in my case) the watching of R rated movies. This may sound stupid, but I received a failing grade AND had to pay for the class just because the professor refused to address my concerns about this. When brought to appeals, Les Balsiger (Dir of Student Relations) was not concerned and did not seem to care about my issues. I would not ever recommend this University to anyone. Other than that, the teachers for the most part are agnostic, feminist, communist, or all of the above.

Quite Bright
EOU is what you make of it. You can take courses that are worthless or you can learn from experts in your field. The advantage in being a small school is the access that you will have to resources. There is a high PhD to student concentration. You may very well be in a lower division course, but its quite possible that course will be taught by a PhD. The professors are very friendly and willing to help you.

Not so bright
Nestled in Eastern Oregon's Blue Mountains, tiny EOU is a nice, safe place to study. You’ll find no out of state tuition and veterans pay noting for undergraduate courses. However, you should understand that few people, and more importantly, few firms, have actually heard of Eastern. EOU programs are great, but no one recruits EOU graduates. For example, plenty of talented bi-lingual education majors get no job offers; and the COB programs are totally worthless. The professors are great, but there’s no demand for EOU graduates because the school can’t properly market itself. That said, if you choose Eastern, consider only the OHSU or OSU programs. Otherwise, you’ll work hard to earn your degree, but it won’t help you to build a career. OSU is a far better choice for business or for engineering. Don’t take my word for it. Go to each school and ask to see any current job requisitions for COB graduates. OSU has a website, and employers actively recruit from it. Again, if you choose Eastern there’s no job placement because there is no demand for EOU graduates. Confirm by contacting Les Mueller and ask about job opportunities for EOU COB graduates – there aren’t any.

Average
EOU is great for the money. The school buildings are nice and there's a friendly atmosphere. It's a great school for an undergraduate student. I would choose this school in a heartbeat.
