Not so bright
I didn't want to go to Lane, but ended up attending anyways. I expected to hate it, but it is great!! The students are very friendly and accepting, and the student body is extremely diverse for a community college in a small city in Oregon. There is every type of person, from every walk of life, at Lane Community College, so therefore it is very easy to meet people. The teachers are mostly friendly, although you will run into a few who could really care less, but I think you will get that with almost any college. Overall, I would recommend Lane. It is a great school to start out at.
Perceived Campus Safety: A+, Surrounding City: D+

Quite Bright
Lane Community College has been a great experience for me. The teachers I have had so far are very willing to help and clarify information when needed. I didn't think I would like LCC, but I was happily mistaken. LCC is a great starting place for anyone to get a higher education. They offer many excellent programs and transfer degrees.

It's like a million other community/junior colleges across the country -- no better, no worse. If you know your material and apply yourself, you'll do quite well. If not, you'll flunk. The faculty is extremely friendly and (mostly) approachable, but the "upkeep" of the buildings directly corresponds with their newness. Example: the restrooms in the new computer building are quite clean, but you couldn't pay me go into the one near the cafeteria. Also: expect a LOT of walking, as the campus is very spread out, and essentially built into a hillside; ground floor on one end of campus is higher than the 4th floor at the other end.
Faculty Accessibility: A+, Social Life: C-

Simply put, LCC is mostly a dumping-ground for the ill-motivated. But I love it, for som reason I cannot understand.
