I honestly feel betrayed by all the things I heard and read about LC. It actually is the worst college. I have had good professors and love the topics of my classes, but socially and as an institution LC is horrible. I made "friends" in NSO (New Student Orientation) but literally within 4 days of it being done everyone had made cliques and I found myself as a floater. I have "friends' but no one talks in depth about anything and people are so superficial and snotty. Literally go into the Bon (cafeteria) and you will see so many people awkwardly sitting by themselves, the jocks who only talk to each other, and then the "hipster" rich kids who think they are the shit. Don't pick this school if you want to be a part of a community at all. My RA didn't surface for the first entire month of school and considering half of the floor was new students we needed the help breaking the ice. The campus is really secluded and it takes 30+ minutes to get to downtown which is really a hassle when you have classes at odd times. The administration does not give a shit about you only your tuiton paychecks, which are way over priced for the lack of care you recieve. Professors that I have had were honestly amazing but I can't deal with such a shitty life experience here. I am a freshman and have been here now for 4 months and I made better friends at 2 week sleep away summer camps when I was literally 11. DO NOT COME HERE. I am transferring as soon as I can.

I would not recommend coming here if you do not consider yourself a hippie. This place is ragging with people who use dirt to wash there hair. Although the school is trying to make it a little less " hippy" it is considerably swarmed by these kinds of people. There is a MAJOR split between the athletes and non athletes making the social life fail. Hippies hate the athletes probably because in high school typically athletes were considered more popular... well I experienced something totally flipped at LC. I was an athlete there this past year and I felt like a MINORITY. Okay yes, I am a bit girly and actually care what I look like and LIKE to feel clean but honestly... A MINORITY. The athletic program is full of a bunch of lesbians so just beware. Infact majority of the girls that go there are either lesbian or just came from laying in the dirt. Lots of LIBERALS. The food is overall pretty good besides the fact that the hours are pretty awful, and there is not really a lot of choices for food. There is a mini market called Maggies which carries the bare minimum for groceries, but for a box of cereal its about 6-7 dollars. Its crazy expensive. Also if you do not like rain, DONT COME TO PORTLAND. It rains almost everyday. There might be 2 days of out the month that its not raining. You will enjoy those days. The academics are really good. I had a great experience concerning my academic life. I loved all my professors. MAKE SURE YOU ARE OKAY WITH ALL OF THE ABOVE. LAST YEAR I THOUGHT THAT I WAS, BUT SURE ENOUGH... IM TRANSFERRING.

This college will make you want to die. There is nothing at all to do. If you like to drink, don't consider coming here. If you smoke marijuana, don't be fooled, they ARE NOT chill. Imagine a Friday night... There is nothing at all to do, campus is surrounded in rich neighborhoods, which have no students. No parties to go to, which would really be nice because you work your ass off all week all day everyday. Oh and also, any place in portland that serves alcohol will kick EVERYONE UNDER 21 OUT AT 9:30. Don't get comfortable in your room because your "Campus Living Assistant" (CLA) likes to lean his ear against your door to see if he can hear any evidence of fun. Step outside and the campus safety officers search your pockets if you're seen anywhere near the woods. Sure is silly how this liberal college surrounded in 137 acres of wilderness doesn't allow its students to go into the woods. So thats Friday night... by the way its 37 degrees and hasn't stopped raining in 2 weeks. Saturday will be the exact same, as will the next weekend. This place is like an insane asylum, DO NOT give this bullshit school 45,000 dollars to treat you like shit. You will not be looked at as an individual, you are merely another sucker who's filling the administration's pocket with 45 grand per semester. They could care less about who you are or what you're capable of, as long as they're still reeling in their obscene amount of cash, they're happy. DON"T BE FOOLED!
