You will learn a lot but will also be saddled with a tremendous amount of debt. You will in all probability pay the bills by doing something that is not art related.

My experience at OCAC was very helpful in preparing me to be a practicing artist after school. I not only have great skills and a individual aproach to my artwork, but I also know a lot about writing grants, working with galleries, selling at craft shows, promoting myself, and running my business. Of course, there is always more to be learned when you actually do it. OCAC prepares its students well to persevere as artists after school, when it becomes much more difficult. Its also a really nice community, and since its so small, everyone knows each other somewhat, and there is a lot of maturity within the student body. It is an excelent choice, especially for people who already are drawn to one of the areas on concentration: wood, metal, clay, fibers, photography, book making, pringmaking, and drawing/painting.
