The experience was a reality check in terms of school work. I echo other reviews of Pacific -- a local school that offers an Ivy-league level, challenging education. An education at a public university is joke compared to the one you get a Pacific. I did not go to Pacific to be a lawyer, but the experience at Pacific lead me to it, and I am pretty satisified. My only negative comment about the school is that it does not get the credit and the ranking it deserves. It is a really good school that offers an excellent eduction, so perhaps the school can do a better job at marketing itself. Starting Job: Attorney, Preparedness: A+, Reputation: C Have a Question? The city is smaller than the admissions office leads on, and further away from Portland than "25 miles" might suggest (although public transportation makes for a solid reason to not attend Linfield). The faculty are great educators, but not necessarily well-known researchers in their fields--if you are planning on attending an elite graduate program, you should take this into account. Scholarships and grants are more prevalent and generous than competing institutions (and work study in academic departments can supplement this while providing valuable experience). Overall, few complaints besides that the university does not have the academic reputation it deserves given the quality of its programs.
