I just got kicked out of AIP because I could not afford the rediculous tuition. The school operates more like a money hungry business than a place for students to further their education. It is a rip-off. My tuition was over $100,000 for a Bachelor's in Graphic Arts, yet the school would nickel and dime me at every chance they got. Need to print something? That will be one dollar. Got locked out of your dormitory? $25 fee for that. Left your student ID in your room? Tack on another $25 for not "being able to present to security." Need a new ID? $50. Each week the teachers would assign projects and I was supposed to just go out (off campus since the school store doesnt even carry a lot of things we need) and spend $10-40 a week on supplies and that's just for ONE class. When I was taking multiple design classes everything began to add up. The supply kit is a joke. It's valued at $800 yet is useless as many new students soon find out. $800 for some paper and markers that will never get used. Nice. Take the Art Institute for what it is...a place to take your money and if you put effort in you end up with a degree that most perspective employers laugh at. I feel like I have wasted the last year and a half of my college career. I now have all these useless credits that will not transfer for the most part. It feels good to be out of AIP because I honestly felt like I was learning nothing valuable...yes, I was learning a lot but the information was outdated and most of it had nothing to do with my field of work anyway. I have learned more about graphic design on my own and I plan to keep it that way.

Initially the experience was good. All of the Faculty was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, life took an unexpected turn and I had to temporarily withdrawal from my courses. Before finally deciding to withdrawal I called and spoke to my adviser, whom redirected me to another adviser. She reviewed my information and told me that my withdrawal would not affect my financial aid in anyway. A month later I get a bill for almost $2,000.00!! I called and spoke to someone in the Accounts Receivables department and He looked up my information and said he was unsure why I got a bill because I was enrolled long enough that none of my financial add should have been returned. Still I am receiving a bill and now they are demanding payment and telling me that can no longer enroll or get my transcript. My initial plans where to return to my studies but with the treatment and incorrect information that I have received I don't think I will be returning anytime soon.

I wanted to mark my review done as negative because on this site they are grouped by these and not just all on the same page....

Over all this school is for student that really was to be professionals.
If you do not want to have a career this is not the place for you.
If you have NO goals for your life this is not the place for you

If you are stupid and hvae no idea how to listen to what people are telling you this is not the right place for you.

I read thses on here about how the trick you into classes....

1. didn't they tell you that you get a chance to say yes of no liek 15 times?! adn you can't tell me they didn't i have done this twince.... yes i have been through this twice...

2. " They call you all the tiemt o do things" This is a 24 hour process... my admissions directior had 300 students.... 300!!!! You really think they are goign to wait for you to get to things? OBV if you need to go online you have put it off for sooooo long that not you can't leave your house for some reason.... if your going to put it off when your so close that your fault... if i was your mom and you told me youd clean your room for the last week adn havent... if i was your teacher and asked you to get a test signed and you havent... if i was your boss and i asked you to shwo up on time once and a while and you havent..... OBV YOU ARE THE ONE TO BLAM! They call because they feel back because you are a lazy bum and havent done anything with you life and they want to help... IF YOU ANSWERED THE PHONE THEY WOULDN"T HAVE TO CALL SO MUCH.... IF YOU GOT YOUR SHIT DONE THEY WOULDNT HAVE TO CALL SO MUCH.....

2. FA! Do i think this school is $$$$.... YES. So i think i would be able to get a better job at a CC? F&*(^& NO! Will you be in Debt... Yes... but look at thing
You live in a house? Do you now think that house was worth 150,000 or more now that you live in it? DO you own a car? DO you think your in debt by owning it???

I PAID FOR ALL MY STUFF WITH STRAIGHT CASH... Do i care i pay $120.00 to sallie mae eash month? NO

I have spoken to a lot of student in the campus commons... Most of you have No job, no goals, no life, nothing you sit at home on welfare.... Well honey this isnt the state feel sorry for me school.. you have to work for what you get.

If you start a class and then say to your self oh this is like school i didnt want this.... HELL YES YOU WILL BE CHARGED. Lets take a step back adn think... would you want to keep paying for something that sucks? no
The Goverment will not pay for that class if you suck face you way out of it.

3. There are 14,000 people that got o this school, the totall students that hav job now out of school ( 200,000) is at a 87.1% placement rate..... Really? you think that you little review about how much you suck at life really matters to them? so they lose a couple students.... WHO CARE?! You are some one who is at home on your ass.... no job... no life... or you have kids...

I have 3.... and i love them so lets just state that you arent a terrible parent and you love yours too.... WHY WOULD YOU SAY " oh i have kids so i can''t go to school" WOWOWOWOWOWOW now they are an excuse and you should go say your sorry night now. chances are your just a flat out bad parent anyways. and you still have no job and you making your hubby or baby daddy bust his ass to support all fo you wow way to take advantage of his great job... if he even has a good one. You should be thankful some one tried to help you and just remember

If you point your finger at some one or thing... YOU HAVE 4 THAT POINT RIGHT BACK AT YOU. Take some damn action for you self no one else feels sorry for you.

Your hand will not be held you have to be smart to get through school.

Do not attend this school. It is a money trap. The online classes are awful. The assignments make no sense. The english instructors do not have a clue. You have to take 5 English courses, where in most colleges you only have to take one or two at the most. Unless you are an english major. This school adds on classes like crazy! That's so they can make more money off of you! Please do not go to this school! I am going to transfer ASAP!
