 | Average | I can't begin to tell you how bad this university is, I've been in this shit hole for 3 years now trying to make the best of a bad situation and graduate so I could move on with my life. Well as it turns out the graduation rate is roughly 50% of enrolled students, let me give you some insight as to why that is. As a jr I was expecting that what my advisor told me in terms of classes and what I had to do would have me with a degree in four years like a normal college bachelors would take. Guess again my entire first year was a waste of time in my advisor words "I may have said to take those classes but they are more to test your ability for the major not help you achieve it you probably have another 2-3 years on your degree". Wtf is that??? I talked to some graduate students working in the graduate program and they had a similar issue where advisor where trying to get them to extend a two year program to a 3-4 year. This campus is so money hungry to keep students they are trying to fuck with your schooling to keep you here longer. I can say most of the facility is nice but I can also say a good chunk have some very obvious power trip fetishes. A professor I had in the recent semester loves to take up hours of your time not to help you learn but literally waste your time, you might think something like a take home exam is a treat or an easy grade HA! Six hours after finishing guess what you get in your inbox oh that was only the first half enjoy guys, but even answers directly from the textbook can only get you a 60%. Weekends are shot if you wanna keep an A or even C average in some of these classes. And don't expect any kindness in the grading department, a class of 250 students I'd rather not say the particular class because I am currently still in it but the average on the last 3 exams was a 50% you don't have to be a math genius to get that half the class is failing. I can bitch about so much crap I've gone through with the academic standpoint but I think it's simple enough just to say that they can't even keep teachers let alone students. On a different note lets talk about the kids here, yeah it's true the majority is a bunch of alcoholic nymphomaniacs and in my opinion more the a good bit aren't able to handle social interaction to begin with but I swore once I graduated high school I'd never miss it, we'll I can tell you this college or at least this one is a million times worse. The only stores around are a fucking Walmart and a mall with literally a movie theater a jc penny radio shack and k mart. The Main Street is nice but everything is more expensive then my hometown in the eastern side of the state and there is a lot better quality stuff like places to eat. You have 4 options of restaurants that aren't fast food otherwise good luck. There is a good deal of racism atheism and a lot of people walking around with such a undeserved opinion of themselves it's sickening. If you don't hunt or play sports your an outcast completely the women around here use you to get what they want only to sleep with your friends and fuck you over I honestly can't wait to transfer. If your thinking about this college as an option do your research before you decide to waste years of your life like I did. | Perceived Campus Safety: C, Education Quality: F | | | |

| Quite Bright | When I was looking at schools I wanted an out of state experience. Clarion had a beautiful campus and I remember my tour guide being friendly enough. My following experiences at the school, however, left much to be desired. To start the financial aid office, when they do take it upon themselves to actual work, is unhelpful and rude. Aid takes FOREVER to get through because of the incompetent staff. An awful woman named MaryJo had the nerve to tell me it was my fault that my aid was "pending" when upon further investigation we discovered it was a hold up on the office's side. Other academic offices are similarly unhelpful and condescending; they have no time to "deal with students." Other than a handful of wonderful professors the rest of the instructors are out-dated. Their syllabi have not changed, many since the 80s, and their teaching styles are monotonous lectures. I truly wish I chose a different school and I would not recommend this university to anyone. If all you want is a lukewarm education and less and mediocre concern for student life I'm sure there are cheaper options. | Perceived Campus Safety: A, Collaboration/Competitive: D | | | |

| Bright | Clarion university is not worth your time or your money. There is never anything to do and the campus is always dry on weekends. Some of the staff are helpful while others dont make it a priority to help you, although you reach out to them. The cops are anal about underage drinking, so please be aware that they can stop you at any given moment and make you take a breatherlizer test.
