Cal is a very beautiful school. Depending on your major, you can love it or hate it. I expected the classes to be a lot harder than they were. A lot of students seem like idiots. If you come to class, and do the work you will do well. Everyone always says "spend many hours a week studying your notes" I've spent a couple hours the day before and aced tests. The city of California is as dull as it gets. There is a dairy queen and a subway. A lot of people say there is nothing to do. If you really want to party every night and be really social, you definitely can be. You can't just sit around and hope that someone asks you what you're doing tonight. It can be fun and other times it can be boring.

Quite Bright
If you are looking to gain a social work degree do not go to CUP. The social work department is unfeeling towards students, arrogant, somewhat incompetant and will not help you, in fact I have seen the chair and facilty go out of their way to hurt students for their own needs or just out of pure laziness. Of course, some professors are fantastic but overall the social work department is very bad.

Its a nice, small, student oriented campus with nice people but little to do outside of the class room. The campus itself is well kept, and new dorms were just added. The administration honestly cares and tries to help students as much as possible. i like the students here as well. Most everyone is friendly and down to earth. The only reason not to come here is the social life. There are parties on wednesdays and on the weekends, but nothing special. The closest actual city is Pittsburgh and its about an hour away. All in all, come here if you like a small school friendly atmosphere and if your not into the city life.
