| Bright | The only advice I would give to students looking to come to Cal would be to lower your expectations. If you are looking for night life, look elsewhere, it is a suitcase school and everyone goes home on the weekends. The town itself has a gas station and subway, and that’s it, literally. Even though Pittsburgh is only an hour away you have to pay a 2 dollar toll each way. If you are looking for a party school then go to a larger university. The coursework is just busywork and you do not feel like you learn anything. The only upside to this university is the dorms, they are practically brand new and have their own bathroom and showers. That is the only reason the majority of the students go here. A lot of students transfer after their first or second year. If you asked anyone on the campus if they were happy at Cal U the popular answer would be no. | Campus Maintenance: A, Scholastic Success: F | | | |

| Quite Bright |
I am a post-bacc. student (meaning I have a Bachelor's degree) who came to Cal to get my elementary certification. Right off the bat I was faced with professors and administrators who had no idea what was going on. They did not know the qualifications or courses needed for my program - it was honestly like no one had ever done it before. Throughout my 4 semesters here, my program requirements have changed multiple times. The department is completely unorganized. Example: I am signed up for a summer course and a mtg. was announced 10 days in advance. I had already made plans to be out of town on that day (I did not have class) and was told if I did not attend the meeting, I would be dropped from the course. Comparing this school to where I got my bachelor's degree, Cal is a joke (I should keep this specifically to the education department). I would have dropped out from this program already if there was another school close enough for me to commute. Avoid the post-bacc. program at all costs. | Campus Maintenance: B, Education Quality: F | | | |
