College, is one of the oldest women’s colleges in the
United States, is the only national liberal arts college in
Pittsburgh and has been educating World Ready Women® since 1869. The College also offers co-educational graduate programs. World Ready
Women® are excited about learning – about themselves and their
place in the world. More importantly, they are ready to
make their mark on this world. Grounded in the liberal
arts and focused on preparing students for the future, a
Chatham College education emphasizes the environment, global issues and women’s
leadership. Limitless opportunities for intellectual and personal growth are coupled
with personal attention from faculty who teach and mentor students.
In this way, Chatham empowers women to assume their roles
as leaders as it has for more than 130 years. The Chatham Advantage With a student-to-teacher ratio of
12:1, faculty teach all classes and advise students as they
choose from over forty majors and pre-professional programs. Chatham’s
dual degree program enables students to earn both bachelor’s and
master’s degrees in fields such as business administration and occupational therapy in as few as five years. Chatham students
may register for classes at any of Pittsburgh’s eight other
colleges and universities including Carnegie Mellon University and the University
of Pittsburgh, both of which are within walking distance of the campus. For journeys a bit further from campus, the
Chatham Abroad program offers international travel and study for every
student. Mentoring programs link students to more than 350 internships
nationwide. An Engaging Community The Global Focus
program brings a small region of the world – its
politics, geography, cultures and perceptions – into closer view for
the entire campus community through course work, service learning projects,
lectures, movies and discussions. Recent Global Focus topics include Ireland
and the Communities of Islam. Involvement in one’s own community
is integral to the Chatham experience. Combining practical learning opportunities
with career exploration, Chatham students typically complete over 32,000 community
service learning hours worldwide annually. A Gorgeous Setting in a
College City Chatham College’s 32-acre campus is located in
a beautiful, safe neighborhood minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, arts and
entertainment venues, hiking/biking trails and many other attractions. Pittsburgh is
also home to eight other institutions of higher learning with
a total student population of over 100,000 – making Pittsburgh
an incredible place to live and learn. Steeped in history,
Chatham’s magnificent park-like campus features towering trees, wandering paths and
timeless architecture, including century-old mansions that now serve as residence
halls. Technological updates, like fully networked residence halls and a
$10 million science complex, are as impressive as the campus charm. Location/Contact CHATHAM COLLEGE
