Positive Negative Neutral Advice
If you get one piece of information outQuite BrightSchool of Information
If you get one piece of information out of this, make it this: DO NOT GO HERE!!! My decision to go to Drexel University was THE SINGLE WORST decision I have ever made in my entire life, and I'm not even exagerrating in that. I turned down offers from Penn State and Rutgers, and I would have been better off at either school. You'll understand why, the moment you realize that the crap Drexel tells you during the open houses and orientations are just PR GARBAGE! This school has NOTHING to offer that any other school cannot offer..in fact, others often have far more to offer. This University has a terrible social scene, little to no school spirit (probably because the sports program sucks), and little participation in student activities.

One of the biggest parts of going to college should be HAVING FUN, as it will probably be the last time in your life you wont have to deal with working continuously- yet Drexel doesn't even offer this, due to their HIGHLY OVERRATED co-op program; it takes 5 years to graduate here, with no summer vacations (you will either be in class, or working as part of the co-op program). You'll be stressed out by your second year, I guarantee it. They call their co-op the 'ultimate internship', which is garbage. Anyone with half a brain at any other school can find a job during their summer vacation that offers just as much experience as any lame Drexel 'co-op' does. Do not buy into this University's ridiculous PR campaign...the school will run you approximately $140-150,000 by the end of your five years there...and for what? No summer vacations, student life, and nothing but work, class, work, class? Unbelievable.

This school has no social life and a horrible student body- if I had to pick a worst feature, it would be that. These are some of the most closed minded assholes I have ever met in my entire life!!! It's almost unbelievable how the people over here try to screw you over just so they can get ahead. Go to a student government meeting, or ask somebody who can give you an honest opinion of what goes on in a Drexel fraternity, and it'll show you right there what kind of assholes are around here. You'll be fed up by the end of your first term. Unless, of course, you ARE an asshole who just likes to screw other people over to get ahead, in which case, enjoy.

Back in March I decided enough was enough, and sent out transfer applications. I'm proud to say that I'm out of here in August, going to a real university- Florida State. I also applied to University of Delaware, so for those of you who are looking for a local alternative to Drexel that has FAR more to offer, go to University of Delaware. Trust me, you'll be glad you didn't go to Drexel.

Somebody should sue this school for false advertising, honestly. F**k this school! What a horrible waste of two years, I feel sorry for the people who can't get out of here. By the way, good luck transferring out, Drexel credits only count for 2/3 credit at most other schools due to the stupid quarter system Drexel uses. They try to lock you in here, hence the term "Drexel Shaft" which everyone talks about around here. This place is NOT worth it. Anyone who chooses this place over University of Delaware is a FOOL!Florida State here I come!!

Drexel is a great school if you areAverageFine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
Drexel is a great school if you are positive about what you want to do. You choose a major and jump right into classes in that major first term of freshman year. Right when you get to Drexel, you begin preparing for your co-op or internship in your field. If you know you want to work on a certain field, Drexel is a good choice because they will get you a job in that field and you already have experience.

I love the social life at Drexel. There are a few off weekends in the winter but you can almost always find a number of fun parties every weekend. People are really friendly and i have made lots of friends just going out to parties. It's great being right in the city and having a subway right here but it can get expensive. The one thing that is annoying about Drexel is that it starts a month later than most colleges and if you get your summer term off, you get out a month later than other colleges.

Question
Unless you are in one of the bigSuper BrilliantPsychology
Unless you are in one of the big majors (Engineering, Computers) your major will probably be neglected with recources. Although I heard the music program was good. There are almost no parties other than Frats. The Fraterities only let members into their parties. The co-op is wonderful and I gained much knowlege and exeperience from it. Don't be tricked into thinking that the university will help you get a co-op job. The internship advisors actually hinder your job search rather than help with all of their red-tape and requirements. Again, if you are not an engineer or computer major, Drexel will not be able to help you find a job. Philadelphia is rowdy as shit!!! There is so much to do! Drexel's campus sucks and when compared to the University of Penn it seems even worse. Many of my courses require me to use Penn's library. Don't go to Drexel unless you are positive you want to be an engineer or computer scientist.
